Facebook Narcissist

Narcissism is often defined as a fixation with oneself and one’s physical appearance or public image. Many young adults could be described as narcissistic, because they’re at a stage of life when they are establishing their identity and figuring out who they are in relationship to others. Facebook and social media has people endlessly posting photos of themselves.  Look at me! Pay attention to me!  Instagram and TikTok all have stupid videos that get the most hits..people are obsessed with getting the most amount of followers, and view it as fame. could social media narcissism be creating a self-obsessed generation?

Research shows that today’s young adults are more narcissistic than ever before. More than 10 percent of people in their 20s are believed to suffer from subclinical narcissism, according to Psychology Today. And social media is contributing to the problem. But they are not so facinating they are really more of a bore.  10913373699?profile=RESIZE_710x

There's a lot more than just that going on Facebook. Girls compare themselves to other girls and get a fixation on themselves and also get low self esteem because they don't "look" (they think) just like the other girl. And this not only goes on with young people. People try to show themselves off every chance they get. I have a family member, if she gets shoes, she finds a picture of a pair just like them online and adds the picture to facebook. I feel sorry for some of the little ones. If they take the grandkids out for an ice cream they "have" to have a picture of them eating ice cream. If they go out to dinner they "have" to take a picture of the food lol. I can see vacation pictures but some are just obsessed with showing off. It gets annoying after awhile. I think facebook can be just detrimental to a young person's mental and emotional well being. There was an article that I read a few years back that said that the younger generation does not know how to socialize with others because internet. When I was attending a few classes at the college sometimes we had to wait for the instructor and "everybody", there could be 20 of us, "everybody" was on their phones. No one talked or visited. All on their phones texting. I remember one time when my daughter was a teenager she had a friend over while I was shopping. My daughter hadn't seen this friend in months. When I walked in the door they were both on the couch sitting next to each other, phones in their hands, texting. That's just not right lol.

It just sounded funny for me to say Facebook. But its tik, tok, Instagram,,so on.. there is nothing wrong with being proud of yourself,,but narcisst are abusive to others,,crave attention,,must be at the center of attention..social media is a good outlet for them,,

Well if your a young person, Facebook can be an awful place for people that don't quite fit in and just add a bully to your friends list and they can turn a young person into mud. I havn't joined tik tok or Instragram. I signed up for Instagram, I really like that platform but I just don't have time for it Evil.
